Behavior Analytic Services (BAS)

Behavior analysis is the science of behavior, with a history extending back to the early 20th century. Its guiding philosophy is behaviorism, which is based on the premise that attempts to improve the human condition through behavior change (e.g., education, behavioral health treatment) will be most effective if behavior itself is the primary focus (BACB, 2022).

At Colores, Behavior Analytic Services are provided to children and families who are experiencing difficulties in their daily lives relating to an Autism Spectrum diagnosis. All services are individualized and driven by the unique strengths and needs of each individual and family.

Who can benefit from BAS?

Behavior Analytic Services are beneficial for a wide range of emotional and behavioral need, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders

  • ADD/ADHD

  • Behavioral Disorders

  • Mood Disorders

  • Learning Disabilities

How we can help

With our collaborative treatment teams, we can:

  • Develop and improve functional communication skills

  • Increase appropriate social behaviors

  • Decrease maladaptive behaviors

  • Regulating emotions

  • Improve child/caregiver relationships

  • Transfer skills/methodologies to caregivers

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

A BCBA is a graduate-level certification in behavior analysis. Professionals certified at the BCBA level are independent practitioners who provide behavior-analytic services (BACB, 2022).

At Colores, all clients are assigned to a BCBA that will work with caregivers to develop a child's individualized treatment plan.

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

A RBT is a paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis. RBTs assist in delivering behavior analysis services and practice under the direction and close supervision of a BCBA (BACB, 2022).

All clients are paired with a RBT or team of RBTs that will provide direct therapy to each child under the direction of the BCBA.
